Resort & Beaches
From
Porto Cristo you can get a bus to almost anywhere on the Island.Cala Mandia is a lively low-rise resort with Bars and Restaurants. There are two
large Hotels with different evening
programs just a stroll away. Overall, it is a good base if you want somewhere away from the hustle and bustle but with all the facilities, and would like to use it as a central starting point for island excursions.
Nearby there are four sandy beaches. All are beautiful and very safe for children.
The closest is Porto Cristo beach, then there is also Cala Mandia, which has been awarded the blue flag for water quality. There are also boat trips along the local coastline. You can take a 2 hour round trip to
Porto Cristo. The boat stops half way and lets the passengers have a dip in the sea. A real treat.
Further details
Hop on the bus which will take you in to Cala Anguila / Cala Mandia where
you will find numerous tennis courts, a Scuba Diving school at the beach
and Horse riding. If you choose to get a taxi to and from
Porto Cristo it will cost around € 7.00 each way.
A car is not essential but it is the best way to explore this beautiful exotic island.
Travel / Distances
It takes around 1 hour to transfer from the airport, and a taxi will cost approx. €100.00 one-way.
